October 27, 2014

On Sunday we went to the Estes House (Jake and Christie) to celebrate Aspen Estes 11th birthday.  It was a lot of fun and also a little strange.  As soon as we got there I spilled taco soup on the floor, and after that got cleaned up.  Isaiah and Jake sawed a hole in one of the walls, to give them more room.  We decided to interrupt that to eat and then we opened presents.  The men then proceeded to cut that one little hole in to a bigger hole since they would need to it make it more room.  So I guess it was a construction birthday family party. lol...  We are definitely a peculiar family.  But you can't say we don't get stuff done.
Later that night I woke up to Jade freaking out in bed.  She was hot.  We did fever duty all night, i took the first half and Isaiah took to the last half.  She stayed home from school, and did nothing but lay down and sleep or watch t.v. She didn't want to move at all, and didn't feel much like eating.  Luckily she's older and knows what her body needs, so she drank enough water that I didn't have to worry about her staying hydrated. It was really weird though she didn't really have any other symptoms, She said her throat hurt, but that seemed like it came from the fever drying her out.  Who knows, anyway she's stayed home from school today and yesterday, but I think she's feeling better today.
It's getting colder, Last night Isaiah came home from his basketball game and said there was frost on the ground.  So we doubled up our blankets and made sure we stocked the fire before bed.

What to say.....?

Well, I'm throwing it out there to the people who read this blog.  Probably not a great deal of people, but even if there's one it makes me feel better to know it's out there for people to see, including me.
I need to know what people would want to know about me and my family.  What things do you want to hear about?  It could be about anything.  I recently had a good family friend from back in Utah ask me to write a book about all the things we're doing to live an off-grid, self-sustaining lifestyle.  She wanted to know what it was like and the things we were doing to live such a life.  Sorry if that was redundant.  I've wanted it to be kind of a journal, but that hasn't worked out thus far.  I also had ideas of it being a miracle release.  To let you all know about the miracles me and my family experience and get the Spirit of God out there burning up the place.  To share my testimony and that of my family.  I also see in writing this that they could probably all be included in this. But, if you do want to know about us, what parts would interest you?
I've found recently that writing by hand in a journal is very slow and I am going to need to practice patience and get my attention span under control to do it.  I think and speak, even type a great deal faster than I can manage handwritten journal pages.  In short it's really hard for me to do.  But in the last few months I've felt some urgent promptings to do better at keeping a record of me and my family. And to teach my children to do so now, not later.
I assume in asking this of the people that read this, I will have to learn to control my thoughts so I can keep on track.  Well, practice makes perfect.  You'll have to bear with me for a few, cause if you look up randomness in the dictionary, you'll find a picture of me under all the other definitions.  If I'm not mistaken I'm giving a great example of that right now. Lol....
Well, let me know what ya think, and until that time as I can have a plan; I guess you'll get whatever I feel the need to share.
